Juicy Lasting Tint
rom&nd's best-selling water-based lip tint: a glossy, juicy shine that fades to a long-lasting stain, in a huge and ever-changing shade range.
Buyer verdictOne of the easiest Seoul buys for anyone who likes glossy lips. It's cheap in Korea, Olive Young has testers for almost every shade, and you'll find limited editions that never reach Amazon. It contains fragrance and alcohol, so very dry or sensitive lips may want a balm underneath.

What it is
rom&nd’s Juicy Lasting Tint is the lip tint that made the brand famous, and it’s still one of the best-selling lip products at Olive Young. It comes in a small 3.5g tube with a doe-foot applicator. On the lips it looks glossy and wet, and as the shine wears off it leaves a stain.
The Korean ingredient list shows why it feels so light: the first ingredient is water, followed by octyldodecanol (an emollient), denatured alcohol and film formers such as ethylcellulose and an acrylates copolymer. The colour comes from iron oxides and cosmetic dyes, which vary by shade. Near the end are small amounts of mango seed butter, plum seed extract, raspberry seed oil and a long list of hyaluronic acid forms. Fragrance is listed.
Who it suits (and who should skip it)
Good pick if
- You like glossy, “just ate a popsicle” lips with colour that lasts
- You want to try lots of shades cheaply, or pick up a Korea-only edition
- You want a lip product that’s easy to apply without a mirror
Skip it if
- You need a fully transfer-proof lip; try a velvet or matte tint
- Your lips are very dry or react to fragrance
- You prefer a nourishing balm with only a hint of colour
What the ingredients do
The formula is a balance of shine and staying power. Water and alcohol keep the texture light, so it doesn’t feel like a sticky gloss. Octyldodecanol and the silicone-type ingredients give the glossy finish. As those wear off, the film formers and dyes stay behind as a stain, which is why the colour outlasts the shine.
The mango butter, raspberry seed oil and hyaluronic acid are there for comfort. They’re in small amounts, so this is still a colour product rather than a lip treatment.
The fragrance gives it a sweet, fruity scent, which is part of the appeal for many buyers and a drawback for others.
How to use it
rom&nd’s directions are to apply from the inside of the lips outwards, filling in as you go. For a soft Korean-style gradient, dab colour on the centre of the lips and press them together, then blur the edges with a fingertip. For full colour, apply over the whole lip.
For more staying power, apply one layer, blot, and apply a second.
How it compares
rom&nd Glasting Water Tint is glassier and more transparent, with less stain. Peripera Ink Mood Glowy Tint is a similar glossy-stain tint at a similar price. Amuse Dew Tint and Dasique Juicy Dewy Tint are the pick if you want softer, more pastel shades.
Is it worth buying in Seoul?
Yes. It’s a classic Olive Young buy. Seoul is the cheapest place to buy it, and stores have testers, so you can try shades on your lips before buying. That’s the biggest advantage over ordering online.
We don’t show an Amazon comparison for this tint yet, because shade and edition listings on Amazon don’t line up cleanly with Olive Young’s. One tube is well below the ₩15,000 tax refund minimum, so buy several shades or add it to a bigger basket.
FAQ
How many shades are there?
The core range is large, and rom&nd adds seasonal shades and collaboration editions, such as Sanrio characters, several times a year. The shade line-up in store changes often.
Does it contain alcohol or fragrance?
Yes. The Korean label lists denatured alcohol near the top and fragrance twice, along with linalool and benzyl alcohol.
Does it transfer?
The glossy top layer does, onto cups and masks. The stain underneath lasts much longer. Blot with a tissue if you want less transfer.
Is it drying?
Some people find it slightly drying once the gloss wears off. A thin lip balm a few minutes before helps.
