Real Hyaluronic Blue 100 Ampoule
Wellage's best-selling hydration ampoule: a light, watery gel built on hyaluronic acid (1,000 ppm sodium hyaluronate plus several other forms), panthenol, yam root extract and adenosine, with no fragrance.
Buyer verdictA dependable hydrating ampoule for dehydrated or tight skin of any type, and generous at 100ml. It hydrates rather than treats. Seoul is far cheaper than Amazon UK for the same bottle, and Olive Young often adds Wellage's one-day kits.

What it is
Wellage is a Korean brand that focuses on hyaluronic acid, and the Real Hyaluronic Blue 100 Ampoule is its flagship. It’s a light, watery gel in a 100ml bottle. Olive Young often sells it with two of Wellage’s one-day kits, intensive single-use treatments that come in a capsule and solution.
The Korean ingredient list for the ampoule starts with water, propanediol, pentylene glycol and glycerin, then panthenol. Yam root extract follows, and further down is sodium hyaluronate, listed at 1,000 ppm (0.1%). There are also adenosine, glycosyl trehalose, saccharide isomerate, sodium DNA, vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) and several other forms of hyaluronic acid in tiny amounts.
Korea registers it as a functional cosmetic for wrinkle care, because of the adenosine. There’s no fragrance in the ampoule.
Who it suits (and who should skip it)
Good pick if
- Your skin feels tight or dehydrated, even if it’s oily
- You want a simple, fragrance-free hydration step to layer under moisturiser
- You live somewhere dry, or you’re flying long-haul
Skip it if
- You want a serum that treats dark spots, acne or wrinkles
- Your skin is very dry and needs oils or a rich cream more than water-based hydration
- You already use a hyaluronic acid serum you like
What the ingredients do
Hydration in this ampoule comes from two groups. The humectants (propanediol, pentylene glycol, glycerin) are high on the list and draw water into the skin’s surface. Sodium hyaluronate holds water too. At 0.1%, it’s a typical amount for an effective serum, because hyaluronic acid works at low concentrations.
Panthenol soothes and supports the skin barrier. Saccharide isomerate and glycosyl trehalose are sugar-based moisturisers that help the hydration feel longer-lasting. Adenosine is the wrinkle-care ingredient that gives the functional registration, a small extra here.
Hyaluronic acid works best on damp skin under a moisturiser. In very dry air without a moisturiser on top, it can leave skin feeling tight.
How to use it
Wellage’s directions: take a suitable amount, spread it gently along the skin’s texture, then pat lightly until absorbed. Use it after toner and before moisturiser, morning and night.
Apply it to slightly damp skin for the best effect, then seal it in with a cream. For the one-day kit, follow the steps on its own box.
How it compares
Torriden Dive-In Serum is the most popular Korean hyaluronic serum. It does the same job in a smaller 50ml bottle. Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner puts the same idea into a toner, if you’d rather hydrate at that step.
Our serum buying guide explains when a hydrating serum is worth it.
Is it worth buying in Seoul?
Yes, especially compared with the UK. Olive Young sells the same 100ml bottle as Amazon UK, and Seoul works out at around half the price. Amazon US mainly lists a smaller 30ml size, which isn’t a fair match, so we leave that out. On promotion, one bottle clears the ₩15,000 tax refund minimum.
The 100ml bottle is right at the carry-on limit. Pack it in your checked suitcase if you’d rather not risk it.
FAQ
Does it contain fragrance?
No. The ampoule's Korean ingredient list has no fragrance or essential oils. The bonus one-day kit's solution does contain a little lavender oil, so check that separately.
What is the one-day kit?
A separate Wellage product often given with the ampoule: a capsule of almost pure sodium hyaluronate that you dissolve in a small bottle of solution for one intensive treatment.
Is it OK for oily skin?
Yes. It's a light gel with no oils, so oily skin can use it under a light moisturiser or on its own in summer.
Why is it a functional cosmetic?
It contains adenosine, the ingredient Korea's regulator accepts for wrinkle-care claims. The main job of the product is still hydration.
