Buyer verdictWorth trying if you want a long-wearing cushion and can find your shade in store. Seoul was cheaper than Amazon UK in our check, but the shade range in Korean shops can be narrower than online.

What it is
TIRTIR’s Mask Fit Red Cushion is an 18g cushion foundation in a bright red compact. The name comes from the claim that it doesn’t transfer easily onto face masks. It became a viral hit outside Korea, and TIRTIR widened its shade range far beyond most Korean cushions.
The Korean ingredient list for shade 10C starts with water, titanium dioxide, cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone and trimethylsiloxysilicate, then propanediol and niacinamide. It also contains Haematococcus pluvialis oil (a red microalgae), astaxanthin, small amounts of flower extracts and propolis extract, adenosine, iron oxides for colour and fragrance. Ingredient lists vary slightly by shade.
Who it suits (and who should skip it)
Good pick if
- You want medium, buildable coverage that lasts through the day
- You like a satin finish, between matte and dewy
- Your shade is in the range; it’s wider than most Korean cushions
Skip it if
- Your skin reacts to fragrance
- Your skin is very dry and flaky; a dewier cushion will be more forgiving
- You can’t test shades in person and aren’t sure of your undertone
What the ingredients do
Titanium dioxide and iron oxides give the coverage and colour. The silicone base of cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone spreads thinly and then partly evaporates, leaving a flexible film. Trimethylsiloxysilicate is a film former that helps the foundation resist rubbing and transfer.
Niacinamide and adenosine are skincare ingredients that give the functional registration in Korea. In a foundation they’re small extras rather than a reason to buy. The red algae ingredients, Haematococcus oil and astaxanthin, are antioxidants and part of the product’s red theme.
How to use it
TIRTIR’s directions: take a suitable amount on the puff, then pat it on lightly and spread it thinly. Build a second thin layer only where you need more coverage.
Press, don’t drag, to avoid streaks. A light powder on the T-zone can help oily skin keep the finish longer.
How it compares
espoir Pro Tailor Be Velvet Cover Cushion is a more matte, higher-coverage option. fwee Cushion Glass goes the other way, with a dewy, glowy finish. Our cushion shade matching guide explains how to test shades in an Olive Young store.
Is it worth buying in Seoul?
Yes, if your shade is in stock. Seoul was cheaper than Amazon UK for the same 18g compact in our latest check, and it clears the ₩15,000 tax refund minimum. We don’t show a US price because we didn’t find a matching US listing in that check.
Korean stores don’t always carry every shade sold online. If you’re very fair or very deep, check before you go, and try the shade in store if you can.
FAQ
Does it contain fragrance?
Yes. Fragrance is listed on the Korean ingredient list.
How do I pick a shade?
Shade names pair a number with a letter, such as 10C or 13C, and the letter shows the undertone. Test on your jaw in store, and see our cushion shade guide.
Is it a functional cosmetic?
Yes. The Korean label says it passed Korea's functional cosmetic review. It contains niacinamide and adenosine, the ingredients Korea accepts for brightening and wrinkle-care claims.
