What it is
Espoir is a Korean makeup brand, and the Pro Tailor Be Velvet Cover Cushion is its coverage cushion with a soft-matte finish. It holds 13g of liquid foundation in a compact with a puff, and Olive Young usually sells it with a 13g refill, plus seasonal extras such as mini primers or extra puffs. Olive Young lists it at SPF42 PA++.
The Korean ingredient list for the lightest shade starts with water and titanium dioxide, which gives coverage and UV protection, then methyl trimethicone, dimethicone and homosalate, a UVB filter. Next come silicones, silica, isododecane and glycerin. Further down are fragrance, the shade pigments (iron oxides), rice bran wax, a little hyaluronic acid and arginine.
Korea registers it as a functional cosmetic for its sun protection.

What the ingredients do
Titanium dioxide does double duty: it gives coverage and helps with UV protection. Homosalate is a UVB filter. Together they give the SPF42 rating. The cushion layer is thin, so treat this as a top-up, not your only sunscreen.
The silicones and isododecane spread smoothly and set quickly, which is where the velvet finish comes from. Silica absorbs oil and softens shine.
How to use it
Espoir’s direction is to spread a suitable amount evenly over the skin. Press the puff into the cushion lightly, then tap it onto the centre of the face and work outwards in thin layers. Build up only where you need extra coverage.
Apply sunscreen and moisturiser first, and let them settle. Clean or swap the puff often.
