Kill Lash Superproof Mascara
CLIO's waterproof, curl-holding mascara built on isododecane and waxes, made for straight lashes that drop. Olive Young sells it as a two-tube set.
Buyer verdictA strong pick if your lashes won't hold a curl, and the Seoul two-pack is good value. It needs an oil cleanser to remove, so skip it if you want an easy tubing formula.

What it is
CLIO is one of Korea’s best-known makeup brands, and Kill Lash Superproof is its waterproof mascara. It’s made for lashes that are straight and drop soon after curling, a common complaint in Korea, so the formula is built to set quickly and stay put.
Olive Young sold it as a two-tube set (7g × 2) when we checked, with a small jelly eyeshadow as a gift. The Korean listing shows four versions numbered 000 to 003. The base of each starts with isododecane, trimethylsiloxysilicate or disteardimonium hectorite, then dextrin palmitate, microcrystalline wax, ceresin and black iron oxide. Versions 001 to 003 also add small amounts of argan oil, green tea seed oil, olive oil and hydrolysed collagen.
Who it suits (and who should skip it)
Good pick if
- Your lashes are straight and lose their curl within an hour
- You need mascara that survives humidity, sweat or tears
- You already double cleanse every evening
Skip it if
- You want a mascara that washes off with warm water (a tubing formula)
- Your eyes are sensitive to waterproof formulas
- You prefer a soft, natural look over a firm hold
What the ingredients do
Isododecane is a light solvent that evaporates within seconds. Once it’s gone, the waxes and film formers are left on the lashes as a thin, stiff coating. That coating holds the curl you set with a lash curler and doesn’t break down in water. Dextrin palmitate and hectorite thicken the formula so it doesn’t run.
The trade-off is removal. Waterproof film formers need oil to dissolve, which is why a cleansing oil or balm is the right first step at night. Our double cleansing guide explains how.
How to use it
CLIO’s directions: sweep the brush carefully from the root to the tip of the upper lashes. Then hold the brush upright and stroke it vertically over the lower lashes for a fuller look.
Curl your lashes first, and apply one coat while they’re still lifted. A second coat adds volume, but add it before the first one sets to avoid clumps.
How it compares
rom&nd Han All Brow Cara is a brow mascara, not a lash one, but it’s a common partner buy if you want a matching eye look from Korean brands. Among lash mascaras, this is one of the most popular waterproof options at Olive Young.
Is it worth buying in Seoul?
Yes. The two-tube set costs less in Seoul than one tube often costs abroad, and it clears the ₩15,000 tax refund minimum. Because the pack sizes differ, we don’t show a direct US comparison.
Mascara opened in your home country and in Korea ages the same way. Most makeup safety advice suggests replacing mascara a few months after opening, so keep the second tube sealed until you need it.
FAQ
How do I remove it?
Use an oil or balm cleanser, or a dedicated eye makeup remover. Water and a gentle foam won't take it off.
Is it the same formula in every version?
No. The Korean listing shows four versions, numbered 000 to 003, with slightly different ingredient lists. Some contain argan, green tea seed and olive oils and hydrolysed collagen. Check the number on the tube.
Why is there no US price?
Seoul sells two 7g tubes together and the US listing is a single tube in a different size, so we don't compare them directly.
