What it is
Han All Brow Cara is rom&nd’s brow mascara. “Han all” means “single strand” in Korean, and the idea is a brush small enough to coat brows hair by hair. It comes in a slim 9g tube with a tiny spoolie-style brush.
The Korean ingredient list is a classic long-wear formula. The base is isododecane, which evaporates quickly so the mascara dries fast. Trimethylsiloxysilicate forms a flexible film that holds hairs in place. Ceresin and microcrystalline wax give it grip. The colour comes from iron oxides and titanium dioxide, mixed differently for each shade. The range includes grey, brown, beige, blonde and rosy shades, such as Grace Taupe, Mild Woody, Modern Beige, Merry Blondie and Dusky Rose.
Who it suits (and who should skip it)
Good pick if
- Your brows are darker than your hair and you want to soften them
- You want brows set in place all day without a stiff, crunchy feel
- You like a quick brow step that takes a few seconds
Skip it if
- Your brows have big gaps you want to fill; you’ll need a pencil or powder too
- You want a clear gel only, with no tint
- You have very sensitive eyes and avoid long-wear, solvent-based formulas
What the ingredients do
Isododecane is a light, volatile ingredient. It keeps the formula spreadable in the tube and then evaporates on the brows, leaving the colour and the film behind. That’s why the mascara sets quickly.
Trimethylsiloxysilicate is a resin often used in long-wear makeup. It forms a flexible film that resists sweat and smudging, so brows stay put. The waxes help the pigment cling to each hair. Talc and silica give the finish a soft, natural look instead of a shine.
How to use it
Wipe excess product off the brush on the tube’s edge. Brush lightly against the direction of hair growth first, to coat the hairs from underneath, then brush with the growth to shape them. Use the tip of the brush on the inner corners, where brows tend to look heavy.
If you use a pencil to fill gaps, apply it first and set it with this.
How it compares
rom&nd’s brow cara is one of the most popular brow mascaras at Olive Young. Its strengths are the fine brush, which makes it hard to overload brows, and the wide range of light shades. For lashes rather than brows, Clio Kill Lash Superproof Mascara is the long-wear pick most visitors buy alongside it.
Is it worth buying in Seoul?
Yes. Olive Young sells the 9g tube for much less than Amazon US or UK, and our per-gram comparison puts Seoul well under half the UK price. Store testers make it easy to match the shade to your hair, which is hard to do online.
One tube is below the ₩15,000 tax refund minimum, so add it to a bigger basket.
FAQ
What is a brow mascara?
It's a tinted gel you brush through your brows, like mascara for lashes. It colours the hairs and sets them in place, but it doesn't fill gaps in the skin.
Does it work on sparse brows?
It makes existing hairs look fuller and coloured. For gaps, draw in hair strokes with a pencil first, then set with this.
Which shade should I choose?
Pick a shade close to your hair colour, or one shade lighter for a softer look. Lighter shades like Mild Woody or Merry Blondie are popular for lightening black brows.
How do I remove it?
It's long-wearing, so use an oil or balm cleanser at night rather than water alone.
