1025 Dokdo Toner
A short, watery, fragrance-free toner with Ulleungdo deep sea water, Irish moss, sugarcane extract and a little protease enzyme, made to hydrate and gently smooth.
Buyer verdictOne of Korea's best-selling toners for good reason: simple, gentle and cheap. It suits almost every skin type, though it won't do much for very dry skin on its own. Seoul is roughly 40% below Amazon, and Olive Young usually adds a 50ml bonus.

What it is
The 1025 Dokdo Toner is Round Lab’s signature product, and it regularly tops Olive Young’s toner rankings. It’s a clear, watery toner in a 200ml bottle, and its appeal is simplicity: the Korean label lists just 16 ingredients.
After water and humectants (butylene glycol, glycerin, pentylene glycol, propanediol) come the signature ingredients: Irish moss extract, sugarcane extract and sea water. Next is protease, an enzyme, followed by betaine, panthenol and allantoin. There’s no fragrance, no essential oil and no acid.
Who it suits (and who should skip it)
Good pick if
- You want a simple, gentle toner that works for nearly everyone
- You like wiping your face with a cotton pad after cleansing
- You have combination or oily skin and want a refreshing, non-sticky first step
Skip it if
- Your skin is very dry and wants a rich, milky toner
- You want a toner with active ingredients for acne or dark spots
- You’re looking for real exfoliation; this is very mild
What the ingredients do
Sea water brings minerals and gives the line its identity. It feels refreshing, but the core hydration comes from the familiar humectants, glycerin, betaine and panthenol, which draw water into the skin.
Irish moss, a seaweed, is rich in carrageenans that leave a light, smoothing film. Sugarcane extract is often marketed as a gentle smoothing ingredient. Protease is an enzyme that breaks down proteins; in skincare it’s used to loosen the bonds between dead surface cells. It’s listed in a small amount, so expect soft, gradual smoothing rather than visible peeling.
Round Lab describes the toner as gently removing dead skin, which matches what the formula suggests.
How to use it
Round Lab’s directions are to soak a cotton pad, then wipe gently along the skin to tidy it up. That’s where the gentle exfoliation helps most. If you prefer, you can also pat it in with your hands.
It’s mild enough for morning and night. Follow with serum and moisturiser.
How it compares
Anua Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner is the other huge-selling simple toner, more focused on calming redness. Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner is similar for oily skin, with green tea. Torriden DIVE-IN Toner is more hydrating, for skin that feels dry rather than oily.
Is it worth buying in Seoul?
Yes. Olive Young sells the same 200ml bottle as Amazon US and UK, often with a 50ml bonus that the price box doesn’t count. Even without the bonus, Seoul works out about 44% below Amazon US and 37% below Amazon UK.
At around ₩13,500, one bottle is below the ₩15,000 tax refund minimum, so add something else to the receipt. At 200ml, pack it in your checked bag.
FAQ
Does it exfoliate?
Very gently. There are no AHA or BHA acids. A small amount of protease enzyme can help loosen dead skin, especially when wiped on with a cotton pad, but it's mild enough for daily use.
Is it fragrance-free?
Yes. The Korean label has just 16 ingredients and no fragrance or essential oils.
Is it hydrating enough for dry skin?
It's a light, refreshing toner. Dry skin will want a richer essence or a hydrating toner like Torriden DIVE-IN on top or instead.
Why is it called 1025 Dokdo?
October 25th is Dokdo Day in Korea. Dokdo is a pair of islets in the East Sea, and Round Lab draws its sea water near Ulleungdo, the closest inhabited island.
