Collagen Night Wrapping Mask
Medicube's viral overnight peel-off mask: a clear gel with polyvinyl alcohol that dries into a film, plus niacinamide, hyaluronate, agave and adenosine. The collagen is a trace amount.
Buyer verdictA fun, satisfying overnight mask that leaves skin looking plump and glossy the next morning, mainly by sealing in hydration. Don't buy it for collagen; there's only 0.1 ppm. Seoul is only a little cheaper than Amazon US, so it's a nice-to-have rather than a bargain.

Seoul packs often add a bonus (+브러쉬); we don't count it in the saving.
What it is
The Collagen Night Wrapping Mask is the product that made Medicube go viral on social media: you apply a clear gel at night, it dries into a thin film while you sleep, and in the morning you peel it off for glossy, “glass” skin. It comes in a 75ml tube, and Olive Young often adds a small application brush.
The Korean ingredient list explains the trick. After water, the second ingredient is polyvinyl alcohol, the film-former used in many peel-off masks. Then come glycerin, agave stem extract, niacinamide and sodium hyaluronate. Further down are several plant extracts, adenosine, ceramide NP and a trace of collagen extract, listed at 0.1 ppm.
There’s no fragrance on the list.
Who it suits (and who should skip it)
Good pick if
- Your skin looks dull or dehydrated, and you want a plumper look the next morning
- You enjoy a peel-off ritual and don’t mind sleeping with a mask on
- You have a special day coming up and want an easy glow boost
Skip it if
- You’re buying it for collagen; the amount is a trace
- Your skin is very sensitive and dislikes peeling or tugging
- You toss and turn a lot or sleep face-down; the film can rub off onto pillows
What the ingredients do
Polyvinyl alcohol creates the film. Once dry, it slows water loss from the skin overnight, a bit like a very light occlusive. That’s why skin looks bouncy and glossy in the morning. The glycerin, hyaluronate and agave extract underneath supply the hydration the film helps keep in.
Niacinamide is the best-studied active here, helping with tone and the skin barrier over regular use. Adenosine is Korea’s recognised wrinkle-care ingredient, and ceramide NP supports the barrier, but both appear in small amounts.
The collagen is marketing. Collagen molecules are too large to soak into skin and rebuild it, and at 0.1 ppm, there’s barely any here.
How to use it
Medicube’s directions: as the last step of your evening skincare, spread an even layer over the face, avoiding the eyes and mouth. Let it dry for about 15 minutes before going to sleep. In the morning, peel off the film or rinse with lukewarm water.
Use a thin, even layer. Thick patches stay sticky and don’t peel well. Peel slowly and gently, especially around the hairline and brows.
How it compares
Laneige Water Sleeping Mask is the classic overnight mask. It’s a gel cream you don’t peel off, which is gentler for sensitive skin.
Is it worth buying in Seoul?
A little. Olive Young sells the same 75ml tube as Amazon US, and Seoul is only slightly cheaper at regular prices. During Olive Young promotions, the gap gets wider. It clears the ₩15,000 tax refund minimum on its own.
At 75ml, it’s under the 100ml limit, so it can go in a carry-on liquids bag.
FAQ
How much collagen is in it?
Very little. The Korean label lists collagen extract at 0.1 ppm (0.00001%). Collagen applied to skin can't replace your own collagen anyway. The plumping look comes from hydration under the film.
Is it hard to peel off?
It peels in thin sheets if you applied an even layer. If it's patchy or stuck, rinse it off with lukewarm water instead; Medicube allows either.
Can sensitive skin use it?
There's no fragrance on the Korean ingredient list, but peeling a film every morning can irritate reactive skin. Try it once or twice a week first.
Can I use it every night?
You can, but most people use it two or three times a week as a treat. It isn't a replacement for your moisturiser on the nights you skip it.
