Bifida Biome Complex Ampoule
ma:nyo's barrier ampoule: 3% bifida ferment lysate plus four more ferments, niacinamide, squalane, adenosine, centella compounds, several hyaluronic acids and copper tripeptide, in a light milky serum.
Buyer verdictA gentle, well-rounded serum for dull, dehydrated or slightly sensitive skin that wants a stronger barrier. It's not a fast fix for any one concern. In Seoul the 30ml bottle is reasonably priced, and the twin pack is much better value.

What it is
ma:nyo (Manyo Factory) is a Korean brand known for cleansing oils and ferment-based skincare. The Bifida Biome Complex Ampoule is the heart of its Bifida line, which also includes a toner, lotion, cream and pads. It’s a light, slightly milky serum in a 30ml bottle. Olive Young also sells a twin pack that’s much better value.
The Korean ingredient list puts bifida ferment lysate at 3%, third after water and butylene glycol. Then come glycerin, niacinamide and squalane, followed by four more ferments: bifida ferment filtrate (2,046 ppm), lactobacillus, lactococcus and yeast ferments. Further down are adenosine, cacao extract, sodium hyaluronate, caffeine, edelweiss extract, the centella compounds (asiaticoside, asiatic acid, madecassic acid), several more hyaluronic acids and copper tripeptide-1.
Korea registers it as a functional cosmetic for brightening and wrinkle care. There’s no fragrance.
Who it suits (and who should skip it)
Good pick if
- Your skin looks dull and feels dehydrated or slightly rough
- Your barrier feels weak after travel, weather changes or too many actives
- You want one gentle, multi-purpose serum rather than several targeted ones
Skip it if
- You want a strong treatment for acne, dark spots or deep wrinkles
- Your skin has reacted to ferment ingredients before
- You’re very oily and prefer a totally water-light serum
What the ingredients do
Bifida ferment lysate is one of the most popular ferments in skincare, linked to a stronger, calmer barrier and a smoother look. The other ferments support the same idea. The evidence for ferments is lighter than for classic actives, but they’re well tolerated and many people like the results.
Niacinamide is the most proven active here. It helps even tone, calm redness and support the barrier. Squalane gives a soft, non-greasy finish.
The smaller ingredients add a little of everything: adenosine and copper tripeptide-1 for wrinkle care, hyaluronic acids for hydration, and centella compounds for calming. None of them is high on the list, so treat them as supporting extras.
How to use it
ma:nyo’s directions: after toner, apply a suitable amount and spread it gently along the skin’s texture until absorbed. Two or three drops cover the face.
Use it morning and night, before moisturiser. It’s gentle enough to use alongside retinoids, vitamin C or exfoliating acids.
How it compares
Numbuzin No.3 Skin Softening Serum is another ferment-led serum, more focused on smoothness and glow. Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence is a watery ferment essence for an earlier step in the routine.

Is it worth buying in Seoul?
It’s fair value, and better with the twin pack. We haven’t matched a like-for-like 30ml listing on Amazon yet, so there’s no direct comparison. Olive Young’s twin pack often costs only slightly more than a single bottle, which makes the per-ml price much lower. A single bottle clears the ₩15,000 tax refund minimum by itself.
At 30ml, it fits easily in a carry-on liquids bag.
