Tea Tree Cica Soothing Toner
Olive Young's own-brand tea tree toner: a watery, fragrance-free formula with tea tree extract, leaf water and a little tea tree oil, plus panthenol, betaine, betaine salicylate and centella.
Buyer verdictA cheap, refreshing toner for oily and breakout-prone skin that likes a light, cooling first step. The huge 500ml bottle makes it one of the lowest per-ml toners in the store, but it's heavy to carry home.

What it is
Bring Green is one of Olive Young’s own skincare brands, and this toner is its tea tree bestseller. It’s a clear, watery liquid sold in a 500ml or 250ml bottle. The big bottle often comes with a small serum sample or an empty mist bottle, so you can decant some as a face mist.
The Korean ingredient list is short. After water and three humectants come tea tree extract and tea tree leaf water, then betaine and panthenol. A little tea tree leaf oil follows, then betaine salicylate and centella extract near the end. Citric acid and sodium citrate keep the pH in a skin-friendly range.
There’s no added fragrance and no drying alcohol.
Who it suits (and who should skip it)
Good pick if
- Your skin is oily, combination or prone to breakouts and gets shiny by midday
- You like a light, cooling toner you can use generously, even on cotton pads
- You want a budget toner to use on your face, chest and back
Skip it if
- Your skin is dry and wants a milky or hydrating toner
- You react to tea tree oil, even in small amounts
- You want a toner that clearly exfoliates; the salicylate here is very mild
What the ingredients do
Tea tree is one of the best-known ingredients for blemish-prone skin. The research mostly involves tea tree oil at much higher strengths than a toner contains, so expect a refreshing, clarifying feel rather than a treatment. The leaf water and extract are gentler than the pure oil.
Betaine and panthenol hydrate and soothe, so the toner doesn’t leave oily skin feeling tight. Betaine salicylate is a mild relative of salicylic acid. At this level it supports clear pores rather than acting as a real BHA exfoliant.
Centella adds a little calming support, which suits skin that’s red after breakouts.
How to use it
Bring Green’s direction is simple: spread a suitable amount over the skin and let it absorb. Pat it in with your hands, or sweep it over the face with a cotton pad to remove leftover cleanser. Many people use the big bottle for a “toner mask”: soak cotton pads and leave them on red or oily areas for a few minutes.
Follow with a serum and a light moisturiser. It’s gentle enough for morning and night.
How it compares
Anua Heartleaf 77 Toner is the famous rival for calming oily, sensitive skin. It’s gentler, with no tea tree oil. Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner is another light, fresh option for oily skin. If you prefer pads, Mediheal Tea Tree Toner Pads put a similar idea into a ready-soaked pad.
See our toner buying guide for how to choose between them.
Is it worth buying in Seoul?
For value, yes. Amazon US mostly sells the 250ml bottle, so our price box doesn’t compare it directly with Olive Young’s 500ml. Counted per ml, though, Seoul’s big bottle works out at less than half the Amazon US price. The 500ml bottle also clears the ₩15,000 tax refund minimum by itself.
The catch is weight: half a litre of toner takes up real space. Pack it in your checked suitcase, or buy the 250ml bottle if your luggage is tight.
FAQ
Is it sold outside Korea?
Bring Green is one of Olive Young's own brands, so it's mainly sold in Olive Young stores and on Olive Young Global. Some third-party sellers list it on Amazon, usually in the 250ml size.
Does it contain fragrance?
No added fragrance is listed. It smells of tea tree because it contains tea tree leaf water and a little tea tree oil.
Will it dry out my skin?
It isn't an alcohol toner, and humectants (dipropylene and butylene glycol) plus panthenol keep it comfortable. Very dry skin may still find it too light on its own.
Can it treat acne?
Not by itself. Tea tree and the small amount of betaine salicylate can help oily, congested skin feel clearer, but it isn't an acne treatment. Pair it with a proven active if breakouts are your main concern.
